The tour is great fun with beautiful scenery, birdlife and awesome glow-worms. The tour takes place at Lake McLaren, a 25 minute drive from Tauranga’s CBD.
The glow-worms are situated in a narrow high-sided canyon at the top of the lake, not in a cave, so our tour only departs once a day before sunset so we have full darkness. Once at the lake we get into our safety gear, having an instructional brief and heading onto the lake at twilight.
Meeting Location
We will meet you at the McLaren Falls Park Information Centre (if the park gate is closed the guide will let you in).
